Developing Christ-like Leaders for the Future
Welcome to Sherwood Christian Academy. As a ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church, Sherwood Christian Academy is committed to partnering with Christian parents in providing their children with a quality, Bible-based education. We want our students to learn to strive for excellence in all they do.
The Academy’s vision is to see its graduates become Christ-like leaders in their homes, churches, workplaces, and communities. In order for this to occur, students must be able to think and act from a biblical worldview.
Sherwood Christian Academy offers educational programs for children in grades K4 through 12. God has blessed Sherwood Christian Academy with an excellent, highly qualified faculty and staff. Each staff member is called by God to provide our students with a Christ-centered education.
In its effort to strive for excellence the Academy maintains accreditation through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
We base our entire educational program on a biblical philosophy of education. This is important because education's main business is communicating ideas from one generation to the next. If the wrong ideas are communicated to our children, regardless of how “good” the academics might be, they will not be prepared to survive in today’s postmodern culture. A biblical philosophy of education requires that all of our teaching must connect the subject matter being taught with a biblical worldview framework that will cause students to understand the God-given meaning in every lesson studied.
I pray that you will be able to get a glimpse of what God is doing here at Sherwood Christian Academy as you visit our website. Of course, if we can ever be of assistance to you and your family, please do not hesitate to contact one of our school offices.
