The Sherwood Christian Academy drama program is designed to allow students who are interested in acting and staging to participate in plays and musicals.
The high school play in the fall semester is a musical that involves all areas of the fine arts department: drama, visual arts, choir, and the band. Some past musicals include Peter Pan, Music Man, Hello Dolly, Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Annie Get Your Gun, The Pajama Game, Meet Me in St. Louis, and Cinderella.
The middle school drama classes are conducted in the fall (6th grade) and spring (7th & 8th grades) semesters each year. These courses are designed to introduce students to drama. The students will learn techniques in acting, performing, Reader's Theater, Oral Interpretation, and other facets of the theater. Each semester will end with a play to be performed for the public, as well as, the student body. Some of the past performances include The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Bah Humbug, Wonderland, The Ransom of Red Chief, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and Tom Sawyer.
