Luke Bergrab Named SCA’s 2025 STAR Student

Luke Bergrab and Mrs. Vicki Davis received special honors yesterday at the STAR Student/Teacher luncheon sponsored by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce held at the Albany State University West Campus.

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program, now in its 67th year, is sponsored, administered, and promoted by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE). Since its creation by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the STAR program has honored more than 30,000 high school seniors and the teachers they selected as having the most influence on their academic achievement. To obtain the 2025 STAR nomination, graduating high school seniors must have the highest SAT score on a single test date and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average.

Luke Bergrab was recognized as Sherwood Christian Academy’s 2024-2025 STAR Student. Luke selected Mrs. Vicki Davis to be his STAR Teacher, who was then recognized and awarded. In public remarks at the luncheon, Luke spoke to the wonderful ways in which Mrs. Davis has impacted his life and the lives of many other students at SCA. Luke shared his passion for storytelling and how Mrs. Davis’ class challenged him to go out into the world and one day tell his own stories with eternal impact for the Kingdom of God. Luke plans to attend Georgia College and State University in the fall, and is the son of Jonathan and Peggy Bergrab. Sherwood Christian Academy is very proud to support and celebrate our SCA STAR Student, Luke Bergrab and our STAR Teacher, Mrs. Davis!

We are very proud of Luke and Mrs. Davis and the academic excellence they exemplify at Sherwood Christian Academy. Please join us in celebrating and congratulating these two wonderful award winners!
